Mama Holland is a CPA-turned-teacher with more than 20 years in the classroom — and the heart of Cozmic Academy. She's the founder's mother, the first teacher he ever had, and the voice families hear when they sit down to learn.
Her path is a rare one: trained as a Certified Public Accountant, she left numbers behind to teach kids and never looked back. Two decades in the classroom gave her the rhythms of a real teacher — how to explain a hard concept three different ways, how to make a kid feel smart instead of stuck, and how to weave Scripture and character into a math lesson without it feeling forced.
Mama Holland's videos walk families through the lessons that matter most. She doesn't appear on every lesson — that's not the goal. But where she does, you have a real teacher in the room with you.
The story behind Cozmic Academy
Cozmic Academy started with my mama.
She was a CPA before I was born — sharp, careful, the kind of person you trusted with your books. Then she walked away from accounting to teach kids, and spent the next 20+ years doing it. Some of those kids were mine. Some were yours, in classrooms across the country. All of them got the same thing: a teacher who saw them, explained things three different ways if they needed it, and refused to let anyone fall through the cracks.
The longer I watched her teach, the more I wanted other homeschool families to have access to her — her clarity, her patience, her Christ-centered way of approaching every subject. Cozmic Academy is the attempt to put that in your classroom.
You won't see her on every lesson — that's not the goal. But on the lessons that matter most, the voice families hear is the voice that taught me. With Mama Holland in the room, learning doesn't have to feel lonely.
